I like to dig around on the computer for family history. My ancestors came here to Rhode Island in 1632 from Derbyshire.

My son (Carson John Catterall Davis) and I plan a family trip to Catterall to explore our namesake village. My great great and great grandfathers, Joseph and John Catterall, were both born in Blackburn, Lancashire, in about 1835 and 1859. My grandfather, John Catterall, emigrated to Canada in 1911 with his brother Harry.

My grandfather was Albert Catterall, lived in Chadderton/Oldham Lancs. Married to Betty, children William and Catherine Irene. Betty died in the late 1950s, Albert in the early sixties (I think). William served in the Lancashire fusiliers and later moved to Bristol.

Hello I am wondering if any Catterell out there is related to Janine Catterell who married a Dr Hugh Stott in Manchester Cathedral and moved to London in the mid 19thC. . On her maternal side I believe she was connected to General Gordon. She was my great great grandmother.

I am half way through preparing a general history of Catterall and I have found much useful information about the de Catterall family from your website - many thanks for that. Went to view the Catterall Brass last week in Whalley - never reaslised its significance before. If and when the research ever gets published, I will let you have a copy. Regards John Waite ( in Catterall)

I used to work with Ron & Jacqui Catterall in the UK at what was then called the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. I'm now retired and trying to contact them again. If you can forward this to Ron and Jacqui with my email address I would be most grateful. Thank you, Linda

Hi I came across your site several years ago and lost the lost but at the time found it very interesting.especially as I look after the family history and photos for my family on my dads side. I have gone as far back as 1790's. we have loived in buckley as a family since then and possibly earlier living in the same area of the town, buckley.anyway ill keep popping over to say hi I am also on facebook, Gareth Catherall.
