Nicholas Breton is another of Greenes successors, his chief romantic work consisting of Strange Fortunes of two excellent princes (1600). Like Ford, he manages to shake himself free of faded Euphuisms, but his methods of romance are the methods of Greene, stiffened, perhaps, by a sense of inartistic symmetry. |
